Our journey to the border city of Tacna starts with a brief stop at the Chacalluta Border Control (Chilean Customs). We will then pause at the Line of Concordia, in front of the Cristo de la Paz, followed by a quick stop at the Santa Rosa Border Control (Peruvian Customs).
Upon arriving in Tacna, we will explore the city's main attractions, including Bolognesi Avenues and San Martín, as well as the Almirante Grau and Coronel Bolognesi Monuments, and the Tacna Cathedral, designed by the renowned architect Gustavo Eiffel.
Shopping opportunities await at the free zone, where a vibrant market offers stunning handicrafts crafted from llama and alpaca textiles. Additionally, you'll have the chance to savor delectable local Peruvian dishes during an independent lunch. In the afternoon, we will explore the city's outskirts, visiting craft fairs and street markets.

Tour Description
Today, embark on an unforgettable journey as we explore the most iconic landmarks in the charming sister city of Peru.
We will collect you from your hotel around 9:00 a.m., and begin our adventure to the border city of Tacna. Known for its free trade zone, this city offers a vibrant market with exquisite llama and alpaca woven crafts.
We'll guide you through the customs process, so ensure you have all necessary documentation ready. Our first brief stop will be at Chacalluta Border Control (Chilean Customs), followed by a pause at the Concordia line, near the Cristo de la Paz. Our final customs stop will be at Santa Rosa Border Control (Peruvian Customs).
Once through customs, we will arrive in the
City of Tacna to explore its main thoroughfares, Bolognesi and San Martín. Our tour continues to the Almirante Grau and Coronel Bolognesi monuments. Be sure to visit the Tacna Cathedral, designed by the renowned architect Gustavo Eiffel. There will be opportunities for shopping at the fairs offering goods from the free trade zone. Enjoy a delectable lunch and savor some traditional Peruvian dishes (at your own expense).Post-lunch, our exploration includes the Petroglyphs and Miculla Suspension Bridge. The Miculla petroglyphs provide insights into the magical-religious practices associated with prayers for water and fertility, reflecting the deep animistic and utilitarian significance that Andean cultures attribute to natural and cosmic elements.
The site also features mounds, ceremonial chacras, irrigation channels, transit roads, tombs, hieroglyphics, stone structures, huacas, and apachetas. A museum showcasing a collection of these stone carvings awaits our visit. After a day enriched with culture, history, and scenic beauty, we will return to our departure city, navigating through border controls on our way back. This adventure in Tacna offers an excellent opportunity to immerse yourself in the city and its surroundings, providing a comprehensive glimpse into the rich cultural and historical tapestry of this Peruvian region, closely connected to Chile.
