We will embark on our journey from Santiago at around 5:30 am, traversing the renowned Los Caracoles road. Our destination will be Portillo and Laguna del Inca, two breathtaking locations nestled in the Chilean Andes, celebrated for their mesmerizing natural beauty and array of outdoor activities.
Portillo, a renowned ski resort and mountain retreat in the Valparaíso Region, approximately 160 kilometers from Santiago, will be our first stop. Here, we’ll explore the ski center and pause to capture stunning photographs. This iconic spot is recognized as one of the oldest ski centers in South America and has served as a venue for significant international ski competitions.
Laguna del Inca is a captivating lake with crystal-clear waters, situated about 2,800 meters above sea level. Its name originates from an indigenous legend about Inca Roca, the Inca ruler, who lamented the loss of his son beside this lagoon. Encircled by rugged mountains and snow-dusted peaks, the lagoon offers a picturesque and photogenic backdrop.
This panoramic tour is ideal for the entire family, allowing us to admire the stunning scenery, capture incredible photos, and enjoy a short trek around Laguna del Inca, a serene oasis nestled amidst the mountains.
