Descripción del Tour:
Today, we'll set off from our hotel at around 2:00 p.m., heading towards Laguna Cejar, which is situated about 20 km from San Pedro de Atacama, at an elevation of approximately 2,600 meters above sea level.
This turquoise lagoon is encircled by salt formations of various shapes, creating a mesmerizing scene where the sky and mountains blend seamlessly, leaving us in awe.
Laguna Cejar is notable for its high salt concentration, akin to that of the Dead Sea in Israel, making it remarkably easy to float due to the high density of the water.
Surrounded by a distinctive natural setting of mountains and salt dunes, it offers a surreal landscape. We can take a dip in the lagoon and enjoy the unique floating experience, although it's advisable not to submerge our heads because of the high salt content.
The Cejar Lagoon is a favored spot for birdwatching and photography, particularly at sunset when the sun's rays dance on the lagoon's surface.
Additionally, today we have the opportunity to explore two more sites that form part of the Atacama Desert's extraordinary landscapes.
The Ojos del Salar, two freshwater wells situated in close proximity, are named "Ojos" because they are natural water sources that emerge from the desert floor, forming small freshwater pools. They are truly an oasis in the midst of the desert and stand in stark contrast to the salinity of Laguna Cejar.
Here, we can relish the Ojos del Salar and indulge in a refreshing bath in the cool, crystal-clear waters amidst the surrounding arid landscape.
The final destination on our itinerary today will be the Tebenquiche Lagoon, a salt lagoon nestled in the heart of the Atacama salt flat, offering sweeping views of the surrounding mountains, including the Andes.
This lagoon is a haven for various bird species, including flamingos, which are often seen foraging here. We'll have the chance to observe their graceful movements and vibrant plumage up close in their natural environment—an experience like no other.
One of the most enchanting moments will be witnessing a stunning sunset at one of these lagoons, where we'll savor a delectable and comprehensive cocktail while watching the sky’s hues mirror on the lagoon's surface.
After this unforgettable experience, we'll head back to San Pedro's downtown area to drop you off near the municipal parking lot. From there, you can either explore the town a bit or make your way back to your hotel at your convenience. Should you opt for a private service, we can take you directly to your hotel.
Don't forget to pack warm clothing for the return journey and bring a camera to capture the breathtaking views and memorable moments. It's also crucial to adhere to the safety instructions provided by your guide to ensure a safe and environmentally respectful experience.
