Our day kicks off with the thrill of departing Santiago around 8:00 a.m., setting our sights on the breathtaking Cajón del Maipo. As we leave the bustling city behind, the road unfolds into picturesque natural landscapes, hinting at the adventure that awaits us in the majestic mountains.
As we journey onward, we'll pass through enchanting mountain villages, such as San José de Maipo, the first town established in this region. We'll pause to explore its charming square, immersing ourselves in the rich history and culture of this local treasure.
By around 11:00, we will reach a stunning waterfall. Here, we'll take a break to savor a refreshing coffee while admiring the grandeur of the waterfall and the commanding presence of the San José Volcano, crafting a magical moment amidst nature's beauty.
Continuing our adventure, we arrive at the quaint town of Baños Morales at approximately 12:30 p.m. Here, we'll take a stroll around the area, exploring this serene spot before moving on to our next destination.
At about 1:30 p.m., we will reach the Lo Valdés Refuge, where remarkable views of the mountain range await us. This picturesque setting will host a delightful homemade meal that will tantalize our taste buds as we soak in the stunning landscapes surrounding us.
