Descripción del Tour:
Embark on an extraordinary adventure to one of the Atacama Desert's most legendary and otherworldly locations, situated roughly 13 kilometers west of San Pedro de Atacama. This awe-inspiring site, known as El Valle de la Luna, offers a landscape that feels like it's from another planet.
Your journey begins with a departure from your hotel at approximately 2:30 p.m. (timing may vary based on seasonal and weather conditions). Prepare to be captivated by the lunar landscape that gives this place its name. The Valle de la Luna is renowned for its distinctive rock formations, sand and salt dunes, and a near-complete lack of vegetation.
We'll embark on a gentle hike through the Cordillera de la Sal, where we'll witness this remarkable geological marvel, featuring vast deposits of salt, gypsum, and chalky earth. This mountain range boasts a landscape rich in natural sculptures, mountains, and salt ridges sculpted by wind and water over millions of years. Among its unique features, the most famous are Las Tres Marías and El Anfiteatro.
The valley is a part of the Los Flamencos National Reserve and is managed by the indigenous communities of Coyo, San Pedro, Quitor, Séquitor, Larache, and Yaye.
One of the valley's most breathtaking experiences is the "sunset", when the rock formations and desert landscape transform into golden and reddish hues, creating a picture-perfect setting for photography and reflection.
At the highest point of the Cordillera de la Sal, we will reach the Mirador de Kari or Piedra del Coyote. Amidst this postcard-perfect scenery, we'll savor a delightful cocktail while witnessing one of the world's most stunning and romantic sunsets.
Following this enchanting experience, we'll return to San Pedro and drop you off near the municipal parking lot. From there, you can either explore the town or make your way back to your hotel at your leisure. If you prefer a private service, we can arrange to drop you off at your hotel.
Remember to wear appropriate clothing for the weather and bring a camera to capture these unforgettable moments. Don't miss this chance.
