Our adventure kicks off bright and early as we depart from Pucón, heading into the awe-inspiring Andes via the renowned Mamuil Malal International Pass, known as Tromen on the Argentine side. As we navigate the scenic routes, the Turbio River Volcano Viewpoint will offer us stunning vistas of the majestic Villarrica, Lanin, and Quetrupillán Volcanoes piercing the skyline.
Our expedition continues with stops at iconic locations like the charming Mapuche Village of Curarrehue and the stunning Villarrica National Park. Here, we'll traverse the historic Puesco International Pass and be entranced by the mesmerizing Momolluco Falls, also known as the Bridal Veil, where the Trancura River cascades spectacularly.
As we progress, we'll explore the rich biodiversity of the Quillelhue Lagoon and wander through an ancient Millenary Araucaria Forest, home to trees that have stood for 1,500 to 3,500 years, all under the watchful gaze of the towering Lanín Volcano, standing at 3,500 meters.
Our route will also lead us to the Cristo de la Concordia, a monument symbolizing the unity between Chile and Argentina, before reaching Junín de los Andes, the first Argentine town beyond the customs checkpoint.
Ultimately, we'll arrive at San Martín de los Andes, a picturesque town that greets us with its stunning Lacar Lake shore and delightful downtown streets, featuring shops, eateries, and chocolate boutiques. We'll enjoy a short city tour before heading back to Pucón.
