We proceed along the scenic Costanera Avenue, which provides stunning views of the river and a glimpse into the daily life of Valdivia. Our journey then takes us to the historic Industrial neighborhood of Collico, recognized for its industrial heritage and its charming river vistas.
We visit the historic Railway Station, a significant symbol of Valdivia's connection with the rest of the country, and a vital part of its history. We stroll down General Lagos Street, one of the city’s most prominent and beautiful avenues, lined with historic architecture and iconic buildings.
Our exploration continues with the historic Valdivia Gates, a crucial structure for river water management and an architectural point of interest. We visit Torreones El Barro and El Canelo, ancient 18th-century fortifications built to defend the city from indigenous sieges, corsairs, and pirates. These structures offer a compelling insight into Valdivia's colonial past.
We cross the iconic Pedro de Valdivia Bridge towards Isla Teja, relishing the views and the experience of traversing one of the city’s most significant bridges. On Isla Teja, we explore the Universidad Austral de Chile, renowned for its academic excellence and beautiful campus.
We delve into the university's Botanical Garden, home to a diverse range of plant species and a perfect haven for nature enthusiasts. Our walk continues through Saval Park, where the famous Laguna de los Lotos offers a serene and picturesque setting to unwind and appreciate nature.
