Descripción del Tour
Today, embark on an unforgettable journey as we depart from your hotel bright and early at around 6:30 a.m., before the first light of dawn, heading towards the Hanga Nui region.
Upon approaching Ahu Tongariki, you'll witness the awe-inspiring silhouettes of the 15 moai, each stretching 22 meters, standing proudly on this ceremonial platform as they gradually emerge from the shadows. The sight is truly breathtaking, with these stone giants appearing to stand as vigilant sentinels of the island's rich history.
As you make your way along the path to Tongariki under the cover of darkness, a sense of excitement and anticipation fills the air. The rhythmic sound of waves crashing against the nearby shore and the gentle caress of the breeze will be your companions on this journey.
Ahu Tongariki stands as the most expansive and grandiose archaeological site on the island. As the sun begins its ascent, the sky is painted with warm, golden tones, and the moai, with their intricately carved faces, slowly become illuminated.
During this extraordinary experience, our guide will delve into the fascinating history and cultural importance of the moai and the Rapa Nui civilization. You'll uncover the secrets of how these massive statues were constructed, transported, and erected, alongside insights into the beliefs and lifestyle of the island's ancient inhabitants. There will also be ample opportunity to capture stunning photographs, immortalizing the magical play of colors in the sky alongside the silhouettes of these towering figures.
This excursion is particularly magical between December 21st, the "summer solstice," and March 21st, the "autumn equinox," when the sun rises behind the Ahu amidst its colossal stone figures, offering breathtaking views. Following this, the sun rises behind the Poike volcano, promising equally spectacular vistas.
While you soak in this stunning and unique panorama, enjoy a delightful breakfast at the site before we head back to the hotel.
Undoubtedly, this is an experience that will remain etched in your memory forever!
