Tour Description
Today, we will dive into the stunning natural beauty of Patagonia and set out to discover one of the world's most remarkable glaciers.
We will embark on our journey early in the morning from Puerto Natales using either a bus or a shared vehicle. Departure is from centrally located hotels in Puerto Natales at around 6:00 AM.
After navigating the border crossings at Cerro Castillo and Cancha Carrera, our route takes us through the expansive Argentine Patagonian steppe towards the charming tourist town of El Calafate, situated approximately 270 km from Puerto Natales. It is advisable to have all your documentation ready and up-to-date for a swift border crossing.
Throughout the journey, you will have the opportunity to observe local wildlife, such as guanacos and rheas, and enjoy views of Lake Argentino and the Santa Cruz River as they flow towards the Atlantic Ocean.
As we travel the 80 km to Los Glaciares National Park, we expect to arrive between approximately 1:30 PM and 2:00 PM, with the timing subject to border procedures.
The Perito Moreno Glacier presents a dynamic display of sights and sounds, with ice calving occurring regularly. This makes it highly likely that you will witness this extraordinary natural event. Unique in its 30 km length and easy accessibility, the glacier is one of the few worldwide that is advancing instead of retreating.
The walkways, balconies, and viewing points in the national park provide safe access to the Perito Moreno, accommodating visitors of all ages and those with physical disabilities.
Around 4:15 PM, we will begin our return to Puerto Natales following the same route, arriving at approximately 10:00 PM. The vehicle will drop us off at our accommodation in centrally located hotels.
We will return with a treasure trove of unforgettable memories and photos from this thrilling excursion to the awe-inspiring Perito Moreno Glacier.
We look forward to sharing this beautiful adventure with you!
