Tour Description
The adventure kicks off bright and early, at 06:30 a.m. at the Arturo Prat Pier in Puerto Natales, where the initial gathering occurs to commence our day. If transportation to the pier is needed, this can be arranged for an additional fee.
From this point, we embark on a journey across the breathtaking Última Esperanza Fjord, venturing into a remarkable landscape that guides us to Bernardo O'Higgins National Park. This is the largest protected area in Chile and ranks among the four largest in the world, encompassing over 4,300,000 hectares that safeguard segments of the Southern Ice Field glaciers, the most extensive ice mass in the Americas.
Throughout the six-hour voyage, the route consistently amazes: remnants of the historic Bories Refrigerator, charming Patagonian estancias, cascading waterfalls from the mountains, and local wildlife including imperial cormorants and a small sea lion colony. All these are set against the backdrop of the majestic glaciers that grace this fjord.
Our journey leads us to disembark in front of the Serrano Glacier, where we will traverse a designated trail to reach the nearest viewpoint of this stunning ice wall. Here, we will relish an hour and a half immersed in the raw beauty of nature before heading back to the vessel. Once on board, a whiskey served with ancient glacial ice awaits us—a unique toast to conclude the adventure, followed by serene views of the Balmaceda Glacier from our open decks.
This unforgettable voyage seamlessly combines history, wildlife, and the magnificence of Patagonia's glaciers.
