We begin our adventure in the city of Llanquihue, known for its delicious cured meats and as the birthplace of the Maullín River. This charming spot is part of the old Settlers` Route and offers spectacular views of the lake as we skirt its shores toward Frutillar.
In Frutillar, a picturesque town with Bavarian reminiscences, you`ll immerse yourself in the history and culture of the first German settlers. Admire the beautiful old German-style houses, stroll through the well-kept gardens, and marvel at the views of the imposing Osorno and Puntiagudo volcanoes. You have the option of visiting the German Colonial Museum to learn more about the lives of the settlers, or simply enjoy the Costanera and observe the majestic Teatro del Lago, home of the famous “Frutillar Musical Weeks”.
